In Split we were lucky to stay in the Salvezani apartments, inside the Diocletian's Palace ... not every day you lie where an emperor did it!

The building is a beautiful traditional stone house built in the 16th century and restored with great pleasure by the new owners. To get here we had to go through a tangle of alleyways, passages, balconies with hanging clothes, although immediately you will catch the trick to the historic center of Split, and you will always end up at one of the four entrance doors: - You see, the palace is amazing!

Inside it has 3 apartments, ours consisted of two floors: in the first one there was the room and the bathroom (both retain the original stones of the medieval era) and in the second, which we accessed through a wooden staircase, there was the kitchen (very well equipped) and the living room with tv, super comfortable sofa, windows and / c.

The best thing about the apartment is that it shows that it was done with love: Irina is in charge of decorating and managing the apartments, with the help of her husband, a very nice retired fisherman, so there are scattered throughout the rooms sailor details. You can read the notes that the previous guests of the house wrote to their hosts ... there was even someone who invited them to their wedding (after being promised in Split!).

We are looking forward to trying the breakfasts that are included with the accommodation and are served in the beautiful bar below (the “Galerija”), every morning we had to get up and escape before they opened at 8 ... maybe to next time, although we are sure that they are up to the task.

We feel super comfortable behind the historic walls of these apartments, so much so that on the last day we almost decided to stay there ... but finally we decided to continue the trip :-p No doubt these apartments are a beautiful, comfortable, full of history and beautiful place in the center of Split, if you have the possibility to stay here do not hesitate, for us it is the best place where to sleep in Split 🙂
